Description
We love it when we come across a unique piece. One we know we won’t ever see anything like it again. Either the shape is unique. Or the stones are particularly rare. It’s fun when we get both. We’ve not had a ruby eternity band like this one before.
What We Love About It: The rubies! Almost all of the rubies are so clear. They are old cuts, so that would explain the deep color and the clarity. You just can’t find them like in the mines of today.
The Deets: The ring is crafted in 12kt yellow gold (tested) but it sure has the look of a much higher karat. The 13 round old cut rubies (an auspicious number!) are deep cherry red and bright. A couple of the stones have some minor chips (pretty standard for a piece of this age – it’s very early Victorian) but they are closer to the back side of the ring and one ruby does have a visible dark spot but you have to hold it very close to the eye to see it. And let’s talk about the back side of the ring – the pattern of the shank at the back makes it very tough to size, but it’s oh so cool! The ring is currently a size 6.25 US. It may be able to be sized, but it will take a special jeweler to do it and it will be significantly more intricate than a normal sizing, so message us for pricing first. It weighs in at 3.17g.
If you’re someone who loves the unique and different and/or you’re a July baby, this pretty little ruby eternity band has your name all over it!
