White Gold (14kt-18kt) Agate/Onyx Cameo Vintage Ring
Cameos always make us feel like they surely have a tale to tell. Maybe it’s because they usually depict a person or persons. It just seems that if they could talk, they’d tell us all about where they’ve been, what they’ve seen and who has owned them. Oh, if only. But that’s ok. We still love them.
What We Love About It:
This vintage cameo ring in particular is one we’re pretty sure has a good story. It’s composed of both 14kt and 18kt white gold, so that leads us to believe that there’s been some reworking done to it at some point. And we’re always a sucker for banded agate/onyx carved rings (we have this one too).
As we mentioned above, the ring is made from both 14kt and 18kt white gold and the rectangular cameo is carved out of banded agate (banded agate in this case is both the white agate and the black onyx) as a female figure (possibly Roman) with upswept hair ad flowers tucked inside the braids. She’s set into a white gold bezel with a twisted rope design around that. The shoulders have dedicated detailing down each side of the shank, including some beading. It weighs in at 5.09g and measures 7/8″ from top to bottom and 5/8″ wide on the finger. It’s currently a size 5 but could be sized up or down several sizes by our jeweler (see options and pricing within this listing) or by yours.
Well, since she’s not talking, we’re thinking we’ll just make up our own story about her. What would your story be? Tell us in the comments!
