Vintage Retro Sterling Silver and Enamel “Square” Ring (Mexico)
There are so many things we love about Mexico. The food. Tequila. The really pretty beaches. The kind, very welcoming people we meet every time we go there (and we go there at least once a year). And the jewelry. Some of our favorite silver jewelry artists are in/from Mexico. They’ve been making gorgeous sterling pieces there for decades and decades. The 1960s were no exception, as evidenced by our Retro Sterling Silver Enamel Square Ring.
What We Love About It:
Well, for starters, the ring is square (to the outside, it’s round on the inside so it’s not uncomfortable), which is kind of cool. But it’s the fact that all four sides are different that really caught our attention.
The Deets:
The ring is made of sterling silver and stamped Mexico on the inside of the shank. The outside forms a square and each side has a different geometric pattern enameled to the top, using a pallet of turquoise blue, gold, red, copper and black. The ring is hollow but still heavy and sturdy. It’s a size 5 US and is not sizable (you know what we say – if it doesn’t fit the first finger you try, keep trying until you find one).
This is definitely not a ring that you’ll see on someone else. If you love to have the unique piece that everyone asks you about, this is the retro sterling silver ring is for you!
