Vintage 14kt Yellow Gold Paste “Opal” Stick Pin Conversion Pendant
Sad jewelry really bums us out. “What’s sad jewelry?” you ask. The kind that just sits in the back of a jewelry box unworn for years or maybe even decades. That’s why we love taking pieces like old stick pins and converting them into pendants and rings, so they’re more wearable with today’s fashions. Our yellow gold paste “opal” pin conversion pendant makes for a great little gift or pick-me-up for yourself without breaking the bank.
What We Love About It:
Paste stones were the cat’s meow back in Victorian times, when women were asked to give up their jewels for God and country. They wanted something sparkly to wear to dinner and so thanks to Joseph Strasser leaded glass stones (originally colorless) were invented and considered cutting edge technology. Everyone who was anyone had to have some!
The Deets:
This pendant, converted from a stick pin, has a collet set opal-like paste center, surrounded by ten dark grey paste gemstones, also collet set. The bail was crafted from the original pin and now strings through it an 18″ yellow gold beveled cable chain. Prefer a different length? Message us and we can get you a price. The pendant itself measures .35″ in diameter. The total length of the pendant, including the chain, charm and bail is 18.35″.
Not every piece of jewelry has to be made up of the most expensive gems, nor do they require five-figure credit card receipts. Sometimes a little sweet nothing just to let someone know you care is exactly the right price.
