Vintage 14kt Yellow and White Gold Opal and Diamond Three Stone Ring
If you haven’t read our blog post about opals already, you really should do yourself a favor and go learn about these amazing gems. They are one of our very favorites, no matter the superstition that surrounds them. The old opal stones have such fire and color that they almost seem magical. Our three stone ring has two such opals – along with one gorgeous diamond.
What We Love About It:
If it isn’t obvious by now, we’re pretty smitten with these opals. We’ve loved old opals for a long time and in particular those with more blue and green. These are a stunning example and when paired with the bright lively diamond in the center, they make this ring a stunner!
The Deets:
We think the ring was crafted sometime in the 1920’s or 1930’s based on the design and wear, but we can’t date it specifically. It’s modeled in 14kt yellow and white gold (shank is yellow and the heads are white). There are two round opal cabochons – one on each end – totaling approximately 1.25cts total. The center diamond is an old cut, .63cts and a K/VS1. The ring is currently a size 6 but could be sized up or down a size or two by our jeweler (see options in this post for pricing) or by yours. It weighs in at 2.5g.
Any October baby would be lucky to have this ring, but even if you weren’t born in October, it’s a stunner for sure.
