Vintage 14kt Yellow Gold Old European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring
Clearly we’re suckers for a project piece. If something needs fixing up, we’re the first to raise our hands and say, “We’ll do it!” Well, when it comes to vintage jewelry, that is. This ring came to us missing its center stone. We knew we had the perfect diamond to put in there, so off to the jeweler we went with ring and diamond in hand. He, of course, worked his magic and now we present you with this: a real looker of an Old European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring.
What We Love About It:
It gives us great joy to resurrect a piece of vintage jewelry that had been given up on. This ring was simply missing a center stone and that was all. We had a solution for that and as a result, we got to bring it back to life. #ourversionofhappiness
The ring is crafted in 14kt yellow gold with a recently added .35ct Old European Cut Diamond (J/I1) at its center set between four sets of double prongs. Down each shoulder you’ll find three single cut diamonds, for a total of six, weighing .09ctw. Our best guess is this ring is from the early Art Deco period based on design elements, but we don’t have confirmation of that. It’s currently a size 7.75 US but could easily be sized up or down by our jeweler (see options and pricing within this listing) or by yours. It weighs in at 1.35dwt.
Saving vintage jewelry from the melting pot will always be a mission of ours. We love that these pieces have history and our customers get to add their version to the stories already tied to them. Is this one going to get to add your story?
