Vintage Yellow Gold Enamel Fleur-de-Lis Earrings
We don’t speak French. We sometimes barely speak English (although WendyKate can order in a beer in an astonishing number of languages). But we know great jewelry when we see it, no matter its origin. These Fleur-de-Lis earrings are simple and elegant and stunning. And French. It says so right on the back. Turns out that the French required that the origin of manufacture was required on pieces coming out of the country starting in 1891. We don’t think these earrings are quite that old but estimate them to be from sometime near the 1940’s instead.
What We Love About Them:
They are literally every day earrings. The color is simple. The design is elegant. And they could easily transition day into night. What’s not to love about that?
The Deets:
They are crafted in 14kt yellow gold and hold a bezel set enameled oval disk with gold flour-de-lis accents to the center of each field of royal blue, surrounded by tiny gold stars. The earrings measure 4.7mm north/south and have the word “France” hand painted to the reverse. They are for pierced ears, using a secured french wire. We estimate them to be from the 1940s.
It can be hard to learn a new language but all you need to say about these Fleur-de-Lis earrings is ouí ouí!
