Vintage Alexandrite Chandelier Earrings
c. 1950 – 1960
It’s earringpalooza! Someone asked for more earrings in the shop and so here you go, kind follower! While a chandelier earrings may not have made it into my list of ten pieces of jewelry every woman should strive to have in her jewelry box, I do think a good pair of “fancy” earrings can’t hurt. And a little color is a great thing paired with the right outfit (like a wedding dress or fancy ball gown, maybe?). These vintage alexandrite chandelier earrings are elegant and could be the icing on the cake.
What We Love About Them:
Vintage Alexandrite Chandelier Earrings
If you’ve followed along for any time now, you know I love a color change stone. Created to mimic alexandrite and natural color change sapphires, which are crazy super rare and pricey, these manmade options are just as lovely and do the trick, without the wallet drain. And while these would be stunning on a bride or at a black tie event, they’re not so flashy that you couldn’t wear them with a fall sweater and some jeans.
The Deets:
Set in 14kt yellow gold, the emerald cut Alexandrites measure 10mm by 8mm and weight approximately 4cts each. Setting the trail downwards from the earlobe to each Alexandrite are three round white sapphires, which offer plenty of diamond-like sparkle (again, being a bit easier on the wallet). The earrings are in the shepherd’s hook style (meaning a wire that runs through the earlobe), with a locking mechanism to the reverse. All stones are prong set. The total drop length is 1 1/8″ and they weigh 5.17g
Whether you’re a bride, a June baby (Alexandrite is the birthstone) or you’re just like me, and love a color changing stone, these vintage alexandrite chandelier earrings won’t do you wrong.
