Retro Yellow Gold “Cufflink” Earrings (Vintage)
Oh how we love a good conversion. What’s not to love about reworking something that was no longer useful or wanted into something fun and creative? Our Retro Yellow Gold Cufflink Earrings are a great re-do. Once a pair of cufflinks that apparently fell out of style with their owner, they were reimagined into a pair of earrings. The original Reduce/Reuse/Recycle. Can we get an “Amen”?!
What We Love About Them:
The fact that someone saw a pair of cufflinks – maybe their father’s or some other family member that had passed on – and decided to have them made into a pair of earrings, thus making them no longer sad jewelry (sad jewelry is the stuff that never leaves the jewelry box). #winning
The ribbed squares are made of 14kt yellow gold (stamped and tested) and each earring is made of two squares connected by a small “O” ring on each piece. They’ve been hung so that the square with the clip-on sits on the bias, while the square beneath takes on the true square shape. They are true clip-ons (not for pierced ears), which we have not been able to confirm their karat weight, but we’d be happy to convert them to a 14kt pierced set, should you choose (see options within the listing). Each square is approx. .5″ across, the total length is approx. 1.15″ and they weigh in at 14.33g in total.
Recycling isn’t just about breaking down your cardboard boxes or making sure your plastics make it to the right bin. You can reduce your carbon footprint by buying reworked/vintage jewelry and that’s a win for everyone on the planet!
