We love a good makeover. Queer Eye For The Straight Guy always had our attention. And we LOVE a good Fixer Upper (Chip and Joanna, we’ll miss you). You could also call our stick pin to ruby and diamond pendant conversion a Cinderella story, if you will. Once a stick pin that had seen better days, we found this lonely soul waiting for a new lease on life and we gave it one.
What We Love About It: The cabochon ruby in the center is a surprise, as you don’t always see them cut this way unless they are a star ruby (this one is not) but it’s a beautiful shade of red and fairly clear as far as rubies go these days. And the pretty sparkling diamonds surrounding it only show it off that much more.
The Deets: The pendant is set with a 3mm cabochon (not faceted) ruby of good saturated color and only slight inclusions. The center ruby is surrounded by single and brilliant cut diamonds set in platinum and 18kt white gold, totaling approximately .50ctw. and while they are ungraded, they are bright, white and clear. The ruby and diamond pendant hangs from a 14kt white gold 16″ chain, which can be traded out for another length of your choosing (possibly for a small up charge, depending on the length desired).
Perhaps Cinderella didn’t have it quite right. Maybe it wasn’t a glass slipper she needed but a ruby and diamond pendant that was also looking for its prince/princess.
