Pearl and Antique Diamond Halo Ring
c. 1920 – 1940
Diamonds and Pearls. The classic combo. Add a halo mounting to the mix and you might just have perfection in our pearl and antique diamond halo ring. In recent years, the halo mounting has made a comeback. Yes. A comeback. For you youngsters it may seem like a new design, but guess what. It’s been done before. However, there’s a reason it makes its way around again every so many decades. More diamonds. More finger coverage. And more sparkle. What’s not to love?
What We Love About It:
Pearl and Antique Diamond Halo Ring
When I saw this ring, I was immediately smitten. At the very center, there’s a creamy pearl with hints of rose and green. And those chunky old diamonds – all ten of them – just sparkling their little hearts out! Such a classic design that leans towards Art Deco and never feels old or outdated.
The Deets:
The ring appears to have been hand-made out of platinum (acid tested) heavy wire, with a cultured pearl at the center, measuring 3.8mm. Surrounding the pearl, there are ten bezel set, old cut diamonds, weighing approximately 1ctw and ranging in color from G-H and clarity from SI1-I1. There is evidence of glue at the back of the pearl (all pearls are glued to the posts holding them onto the ring – that’s why pearl jewelry and water don’t mix). The ring weighs 3.9g and is currently a size 7.25 but could easily be re-sized up or down, as needed (see options listed within this post).
If you’re looking for classic and timeless, it doesn’t really get any better than this ring. Don’t dilly dally. My bet is she won’t last here long.
