Description
Opal and Diamond Three Stone Ring
c 2019: Vintage Inspired
What do you get when you cross three stunning opals from a worn out brooch with eight sparkly, old-cut diamonds from a second worn out brooch? Well, if you’re me and you have an amazing jeweler, you get this three stone ring that takes all of its queues from a Victorian Design.
What We Love About It:
Those opals! unlike the more milky opals of today, these are on fire with color – blues, greens and oranges. And the color in each changes with the light. This will definitely be a ring that gets noticed, so make sure you allow time for all of the comments you’ll get when you wear it.
The Deets:
We broke apart two old brooches that were beyond repair and used the vibrant opals from one and the super sparkly diamonds from the other, found a Victorian ring and used it as the mold for our design and ta da! Our opal three stone ring was born. The opals measure: 7.5×5.8mm at the center and the two sides are each 6.4 x 5.5 mm. The diamonds are G-J in color and SI1 – I1 in clarity and are roughly .40ctw. The ring is crafted out of 14kt yellow gold with hand engraved folate shoulders and weighs 6.78g. She’s currently a size 6 US but could be sized up or down by a reputable jeweler with a laser welder.
Have you been looking for a vintage opal ring, but you were too nervous about the condition of an old ring to make a purchase? This is the best of both worlds. The color and sparkle of old stones but in a brand new mounting that mimics Victorian design. What could be better?
