We’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. . . . we think old diamonds are the best diamonds. They aren’t “conflict” or blood diamonds. They have an irregularity about them that is part of the hand cut charm. And there’s a glow – something about the older mines from whence they come. They may not fit the modern-day idea of what a diamond should be (those darn 4Cs that are DeBeers marketing department genius – but that really don’t apply to the old stones). You’ll find we often have old european cut diamond engagement rings, like this one, in stock.
What We Love About It: Well, we feel this should be obvious…. #olddiamondsarethebestdiamonds And this one is no exception. She may be small, but she is definitely mighty. And then there’s the two tiny hearts. Talk about the upmost symbolism!
The Deets: The ring, likely from the 1920s or 30s is crafted in 14kt yellow gold, with a unique hand carved pattern. The diamond, an old European cut diamond (.11cts SI2/I-J), is set into an illusion setting. And the gallery includes two small hearts – one on each side. It’s currently a size US 7 but could easily be sized up or down several sizes by our jeweler (see above for details and pricing) or by yours.
Two hearts becoming one. Without the pretense of modern day definitions. Now that’s true love.
