We think Ol’ King Edward kind of got the shaft. His mom lived to be 81 years old and ruled for something like a gazillion years. That left Eddy, who had lived pretty high on the hog his whole life (nutrition and sensible eating hadn’t really been invented yet), therefore only got to rule a little over nine years before his demise. But during that nine plus years, there were some awesome advancements in the world of jewelry (hello, torches hot enough to melt platinum, for example. You can read more about the jewelry innovations of the era here) and so he still had an era named after him. This pretty little lady was crafted during that very era and has the design hallmarks to prove it.
What We Love About It: Well, for starters, you know we’re suckers for Old European Cut Diamonds. We love them more than we can possibly express. They’re chunkiness. They’re open culets. And they all just seem to glow from within. But the stylish white gold mounting in which this particular Old European Cut Diamond is set is a stunner too!
The Deets: The ring is crafted in 18kt White Gold with a pierced frame and milgrain accents. The Old European Cut Diamond weighs in at .28cts and is an F/G in color and an SI2 in clarity (there is a surface reaching inclusion that is not visible to the naked eye but can be seen under magnification). The ring is currently a size 7 3/4 US but could easily be sized up or down by our jeweler (see options and pricing above) or by yours.
We think good ol’ King Eddy would approve.
