We like simple things. Old Dogs. Old houses. Old jewelry. Especially simple old jewelry. We love it when a piece has uncomplicated lines and just a simple uncomplicated stone. This pretty opal ring from the Art Deco era is definitely simple.
What We Love About It: The color of that opal, for starters. There’s so much blue and green swirling around. You don’t see new stones with this much color these days. It’s not a doublet, so that’s all opal shining through there. And the delicate simple bezel holding it in…. nothing overly fancy here. But oh so pretty.
The Deets: The ring is crafted in 10kt yellow gold. In the center is a genuine oval cut (8 mm x 5 mm) opal, the equivalent by measurement of about .70 ct. that’s bezel set. The ring is currently a size US 4.75 but could easily be sized up or down a couple of sizes by our jeweler (see above for details and pricing) or by yours.
The Victorians thought opals to have mystical properties. We agree, if by mystical properties you mean we could stare into this one all day.
