Be still my beating heart. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. The brooch is back! Brooches are one hot ticket right now and this one takes the cake!
This Victorian opal diamond, platinum and yellow gold bar pin is full of color and sparkle. The base is yellow gold and the top is made of thin platinum. The graduated round carved opal beads are accented by old mine cut and rose cut diamonds. The pin is 2 3/4″ long and is 12.50mm wide at the top. There are nine full-drilled semi-crystal white opal beads, graduated in size from 6mm (near the ends) to 7.8mm in the center.
The diamonds (all bead set) in this pin, accenting the opals, are arranged in an opposing pattern on each side. There are twelve (12) .015ct rose cut and old european cut round diamonds arranged in pairs. The center area had larger and smaller diamonds (8), also rose, old european and one cushion cut. Total diamond weight is approximately .63cts (graded G-H in color and SI1 to SI2).
The color intensity is amazing and the the pin itself is a labor intensive design. The workmanship is superior and the pin is in great condition. An appraisal, dating May 19, 2015, will accompany it, with a replacement value of $2910.00
**the pin will be shipped (in the US) by USPS Priority Mail. Should you wish additional insurance, beyond what’s supplied by USPS, message me prior to purchase.
