Sometimes you find a piece that’s breathtaking. As in when you lay eyes on it, it literally takes your breath away. Just take a look at the amethyst in this amazing retro 14kt yellow gold brooch/pin. The photos can’t really truly capture it. But even through the photos you can see how grand this piece really is.
What we love about it: 1) SEVENTEEN CARATS. This thing is huge. And sparkly. And has so many amazing facets. It catches the light from every. single. angle. 2) The color play is amazing. It’s not just purple. There are flashes of blue, violet and indigo in there. 3) The gallery looks just like a regal crown (fitting since purple has long been the color of royalty).
The Deets: The amethyst is 17cts (we may have mentioned that before). The pin is approx. 2.5″ long and 1.25″ wide at the widest point. The stone is clear and full of fire and colorplay and is cut beautifully. The brooch is a conversion piece – if you look closely, you can see where the stone and gallery were soldered onto the pin mechanism (which is a VERY well made pin stem) It’s a pull out stem with a slot to catch the pin.
This piece could easily be converted into a pendant or a ring, should some choose and we can help you with that, if that’s your desire. Or you could rock it as-is. It’s a show stopper for sure!
